I understand some familiar words and very simple phrases in slow and clearly audible language in everyday communication situations when they talk about me, my family, and people around me.

2. Reading

I understand the familiar names, words, and very simple suggestions in ads, posters, or directories.

Talking

1. Dialogue

I can participate in the dialogue if my interlocutor repeats my request at a slow pace or paraphrases it, and helps me to formulate what I am trying to say. I can ask simple questions and answer them within the topics I know.

2. Monologue

I can use simple phrases and sentences to tell where I live and the people I know.

Writing

I can write simple greeting cards (for example, holiday greetings), fill in forms, enter my name, nationality, address in the registration form at the hotel.

I understand very short simple texts. I can find specific, easily predictable information in the simple texts of everyday communication: in advertisements, prospectuses, menus, schedules. I understand simple letters of a personal nature.

Talking

1. Dialogue

I can communicate in simple typical situations that require the direct exchange of information within the topics and activities that I am familiar with. I can support a very short conversation on domestic topics, but I still do not understand enough to talk on my own.

2. Monologue

I can use simple phrases and sentences to tell about my family and other people, living conditions, study, real or former job.

Writing

I can write simple short letters and messages. I can write a simple personal letter (for example, express my gratitude to someone)

Level B1

Understanding

1. Listening

I understand the main points of clearly stated statements within the literary norm on the topics that I have to deal with at work, at school, on vacation, and so on. I understand what most radio and television programs are about current events, as well as broadcasts related to my personal or professional interests. The language of the speakers should be clear and relatively slow.

2. Reading

I understand texts based on the frequency linguistic material of everyday and professional communication. I understand the description of events, feelings, intentions in letters of a personal nature.

Talking

1. Dialogue

I can deal with most situations that arise when I am in the country of the language being studied. I can participate in dialogues without prior preparation on a topic that I know (for example, “family”, “hobby”, “work”, “travel”, “current events”).

2. Monologue

I can build simple cohesive statements about my personal experiences, events, tell about my dreams, hopes and desires. I can briefly justify and explain my views, intentions. I can tell the story or lay out the story of a book or movie and express my attitude to it.

Writing

I can write simple, coherent text on familiar or interesting topics. I can write letters of a personal nature, informing them of my personal experiences and impressions.

Level B2

Understanding

1. Listening

I understand the detailed reports and books and even the complex argumentation contained in them, if I am familiar with the subject matter of these speeches. I understand almost all news and reports about current events. I understand the content of most films if their characters speak the literary language.

2. Reading

I understand articles and posts on contemporary issues, whose authors take a special position or express a specific point of view. I understand contemporary fiction.

Talking

1. Dialogue

Without training, I can freely participate in dialogues with native speakers. I am able to actively participate in the discussion on a problem that is familiar to me, to justify and defend my point of view.

2. Monologue

I can speak clearly and in detail about a wide range of issues that interest me. I can explain my point of view on the current issue by giving all the pros and cons.

Writing

I can write comprehensible detailed messages on a wide range of issues that interest me. I can write an essay or a report, covering questions or arguing for and against. I can write letters, highlighting those events and impressions that are particularly important to me.

Level C1

Understanding

1. Listening

I understand deployed messages even if they have a fuzzy logical structure and semantic connections are not explicit. I understand almost all TV shows and movies.

2. Reading

I understand the big complex non-artistic and artistic texts, their stylistic features. I also understand the special articles and technical instructions of a large volume, even if they do not relate to my field of activity.

Talking

1. Dialogue

I am able to express my thoughts spontaneously and quickly without difficulty in selecting words. My language differs in the variety of linguistic means and the accuracy of their use in situations of professional or everyday communication. I can formulate my thoughts and express my thoughts accurately, as well as actively support any conversation.

2. Monologue

I can clearly and thoroughly present complex topics, integrate into one whole unit, develop separate provisions and draw appropriate conclusions.

Writing

I can clearly and logically express my thoughts in writing and cover my views in detail. I am able to present in detail in letters, inventions, reports complex problems, highlighting what seems to me to be the most important. I can use a language style appropriate to the intended addressee.

Level C2

Understanding

1. Listening

I am fluent in any spoken language through direct or indirect communication. I am fluent in the language of the native speaker, who speaks at a rapid pace if I have the opportunity to get used to the individual features of his pronunciation.

2. Reading

I am free to understand all types of texts, including texts of an abstract nature, complex in composition or linguistic terms: instructions, special articles and works of art.

Talking

1. Dialogue

I can freely participate in any conversation or discussion, have all kinds of idiomatic and colloquial expressions. I quickly express myself and can express any nuances of meaning. If I have difficulty in using linguistic means, I can quickly and unnoticed for those around me to paraphrase my expression.

2. Monologue

I can speak freely and reasonably, using appropriate language means, depending on the situation. I can logically construct my message so that it will attract the attention of the listeners and help them to mark and remember the most important provisions.

Writing

I can logically and consistently express my thoughts in writing, using the necessary language. I can write complex letters, reports, reports or articles that have a clear logical structure that helps the recipient to note and remember the most important points. I can write summaries and reviews of both professional and artistic works.
